Welcome
Founded in 1939, the Greater Oneonta Historical
Society, formerly the Upper Susquehanna Historical Society, strives to
preserve the heritage of the Greater Oneonta area and to educate the
population by offering programs which familiarize area citizens with local
history. As an organization, we work to enhance the future by
providing a tradition on which our contemporary culture can be based and
out of which it can grow.
GOHS History Center Hours
Open Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
and Tuesdays noon to 3:00 PM
Other times for special events or by prior arrangement
Special Notice
Several new features have been added to the GOHS web site. One is
a slide show featuring historical pictures from Bresee's Oneonta Department Store. Also we have some new pictures from Oneonta native Stephen Joseph. Look for them on the "Words and Pictures" page!
