Oneonta Centennial Souvenirs 2008 Centennial Souvenir Book Copies of the 2008 Centennial Souvenir Book, compiled under the chairmanship of City Historian Mark Simonson, are for sale at the History Center for $5.00. To order copies by mail send a check for $8.00 (to cover the cost of the book plus tax, postage and handling) to GOHS P.O. Box 814, Oneonta, NY 13820 Oneonta Centennial Proof Coins The Greater Oneonta Historical Society is selling silver proof coins commemorating the centennial of the City Charter. The coins are .999 fine silver, one half troy ounce, and 1.283 inches in diameter. Only 500 of these proof coins have been minted.
One side depicts the Little Red Caboose, where eight Delaware & Hudson brakemen founded the Brotherhood of Railway Brakemen. The other side shows a vintage baseball game with the Oneonta hills in the background. Each coin, with its plastic holder and a description is $25.00 plus tax ($22.50 plus tax for GOHS members).
