Oneonta Centennial Souvenirs 2008 ONEONTA HISTORY CALENDARS GOHS' third annual historical calendar is now available at a reduced cost. The 2008 calendar, entitled "Oneonta As It Was In 1908", commemorates the centennial of the City Charter with photos and news from one hundred years ago. The photos are from the GOHS collection. The calendar is for sale at the History Center as well as at GOHS events. The reduced cost is $6.00, tax included. Oneonta Centennial Proof Coins The Greater Oneonta Historical Society is selling silver proof coins commemorating the centennial of the City Charter. The coins are .999 fine silver, one half troy ounce, and 1.283 inches in diameter. Only 500 of these proof coins have been minted.
One side depicts the Little Red Caboose, where eight Delaware & Hudson brakemen founded the Brotherhood of Railway Brakemen. The other side shows a vintage baseball game with the Oneonta hills in the background. Each coin, with its plastic holder and a description is $25.00 plus tax ($22.50 plus tax for GOHS members).
